Proper Dance Attire

Shoes and Dancewear

                    Creative Movement - pink ballet, black tap or hard soled shoes, leotard, tights or socks
                    Ballet - pink ballet shoes, leotard, tights
                    Jazz - black jazz shoes, leotard, black jazz pants
                    Tap - black tap shoes
                    Hip Hop - black sneakers or dance shoes. No jeans, please

Flamenco- low heeled shoe, large skirt, leotard, tights, castanets and a fan

Boys: Appropriate black dance shoes (except floor gymnastics - barefoot), black jazz pants or tights, solid color tank shirt

Important !

Check with your teacher for proper fit before you wear your shoes in class. Ballet shoes and jazz shoes should have no more than a thumbs width for growth. Do Not sew ribbons on pointe shoes until teacher checks for proper fit.

Please Note: NO! street shoes on the dance floors...Carry your dance shoes to and from class. Dance shoes worn on the street wear out faster and pick up sand and grime which deposits on the dance floor. Hip Hop dancers be especially aware since you wear sneakers that can be worn on the street.
